The first IGT Hands-on Project Week, modeled after the [http://wiki.na-mic.org/Wiki/index.php/Engineering:Programming_Events NA-MIC Project weeks], was held during the week of December 8th, 2008 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

To facilitate this work, several rooms were setup with internet and power access, navigation demonstrations were setup, and time was booked on MR scanners at the Brigham, to allow each time to work on their projects. On the last day of the event, a closing presentation session is held in which each project team presents a summary of what they accomplished during the week.
