Liver EM segmentation

Objective

Develop an automatic segmentation tool to assist radiologists in the liver cryo-ablation procedure.

Approach, Plan

Evaluate EM Segment tool from Slicer to segment CT and MR images of liver. Use appropriate Registration tool from Slicer to register the segemented liver data.

Our plan for the project week is to first try out EM segment tool on MR images.

Progress

EM segment tool in Slicer works for MR data sets but shows some artifacts.

To Do:

To try EM Segment tool for CT scan images. Register segmented MR and CT images.

If needed, improve Slicer tools or design new algorithms to segment and register liver images.
