1. Consultations update

  • This week we receive 2 new requests, one about MRI of Mesothelioma and the other about measuring visceral fat.

2. Feedback from National Imaging Working Group Steering Comitee

  • Randy gave some feedback after the IWG Steering Committee. We were asked again this year to present some education material at the ACRIN meeting (September 21-23, 2011). There is also a demand for more face time between the different CTSA. A suggestion was to have a satellite meeting to ACRIN where we would invite the new CTSA who want to learn more about imaging to join. Randy will follow-up with Dan Sullivan.

3. Feedback from previous medical imaging workshop and details about upcoming small animal imaging workshop by Ann Schlesinger

  • Ann talked about the results from the satisfaction survey sent after the imaging workshop (10/27/2010) and presented the upcoming small animal imaging workshop (February 28, 2011).

4. Y4 Budget justification

  • Valerie will send everybody a table with the number of consultations per consultant for Y3.
  • Everybody will have to justify their effort in the following area: consultation, education, management, education.

5. Advertising the consultation service

  • Tom Ulrich drafted a text to be send to the Harvard Community to promote our consultation service. Everybody got a chance to review the text.

6. Education plan for 2011

  • Randy got a very good welcome when she proposed to offer lectures on quantitative biomarkers at MIT. Valerie will do all the coordination to set up these lectures by reaching out to the cancer center and the neurology center.
